Pastoral Review Process
The purpose of a pastoral review is to assess the health of the pastor, the effectiveness of his ministry, and the overall health of the church. An annual review does not need to be complicated. A simple, clear, and collaborative process can provide helpful feedback to both the pastor and the elders or church board while encouraging thoughtful reflection on the pastor’s well-being and the fruitfulness of his ministry.
More than simply evaluating performance, the review process provides an opportunity to prayerfully affirm how the Lord is working in the church and through its pastor, while looking ahead with anticipation to the Spirit’s continued work in both the pastor and the congregation.
